Chanelle Sladics & The Lodgepole Project
I’m currently working on an environmental photography project called The Lodgepole Project. The Lodgepole Project is a climate change connect-the-dots awareness project. It tells a visual story of the unprecedented Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic that continues to destroy millions of acres of North America’s lodgepole pine forests as a result of human generated climate change.
In addition to creating images that will help raise awareness and educate people about this Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic, I am creating portraits that explore the human response to the historic epidemic. Last month I met up with Chanelle Sladics in Breckenridge, Colorado for a portrait session during a snow storm in a beautiful lodgepole pine forest. I’m incredibly grateful for Chanelle’s help and look forward to sharing her story through the lens of The Lodgepole Project.
Over the next year I’ll continue to create portraits of environmental activists, athletes, scientists, foresters, artists, American Indians and politicians. Beginning in 2015, The Lodgepole Project will be presented as a limited edition hardcover book and touring fine art exhibit of landscape and portrait photography. Please help spread the word and share my project. To follow The Lodgepole Project check out the blog. If you want to get involved drop me a line. To learn more about The Lodgepole Project click here.
